Cabin near elevator?????
 

Hi there,
we have just been given our cabin no for a cruise next year.
It is a balcony cabin on the Eurodam.
Cabin no VD4043
It is quite close to the elevators.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this cabin?
I thought there was a web site where you could see inside particlar cabins.
Does anyone know about this?

We have had cabins right next to elevators and have never heard them at all.
If you go to the line and your ship's web site you can get a picture of cabins in your catagory. Usually they are all the same especially balcony cabins. Or see what they have in the catalogue.

Woman asks a female friend, "How was your weekend"?
"It was awful. All day and all night, in and out, up and down, up and down, in and out. I didn't get any rest".
"That's terrible".
"I'll never get a room next to an elevator again".

On any cruise that I have taken, the elevators sneak up on you even when you are waiting for them. I've never heard a complaint. Now I have heard drunks in the hallways but that has nothing to do with the elevator.
All the brochures have maps of all the decks with each cabin identified. These are also available on line. They are important - less for elevators than for theatre, Lido decks etc.

On ships the elevators are different from hotels. They are quiet, you never hear them. And they are located "across" the ship while the cabins are "along" the ship so you are away from them.

You might hear the drunks going home late, but this possibility is slim.

Lordy: I think being near the elevator is a plus, not a negative. (Saves you that trip down the hall to the elevator each time.)
