Bringing wine aboard

Will be sailing on a celebrity ship in March and wondered if I could pack a bottle of wine in my suitcase for consumption in my stateroom? Has anyone had the ship confiscate a bottle of wine packed in checked baggage?

It all depends on how strictly they screen the bags. I have been able to bring bottles on in my suitcase on all our cruises and have never been stopped. However, I have had some confiscated when coming back from shore at ports of call. Other times I have carried it on at ports with no problem (in a back pack). It really is a matter of how tight the screening is .

Even if they do take it you get it back on the last night so you do not lose it forever.

Never any problem, we bring wine and hard liq in our checked luggage in many of our cruises.
The only worry I had was how well they were packed in case of breakage.

I brought several bottles of wine in my checked luggage. Make sure it is bubble wrapped and cushioned well. You don't want one to break. My Celebrity cruise to Bermuda last year, I took on a case in my luggage. I've carried on a liter of vodka in two 1/2 liter water bottles. ((b))

I am travelling on Celebrity in January and it clearly states that you can bring two bottles of wine per stateroom. I will take the tetra pacs although they may not be the wine I love they wont break.
