booking staterooms

Looking into Alaskan cruise for this summer. Have only gone on 1 other cruise ('95)and that was just my husband and myself. This one we are taking our daughter (23) and possibly our son (26). He is not certain his work schedule will allow him to be available. If we book a big enough suite (that will sleep 4 adults) will it matter that we don't book his ticket until the last minute, since we have the suite anyway? Thanks in advance. All of your advice is proving very helpful.

If you can confirm the cabin you are booking accommodates four you don't have to tell them that there may be a fourth passenger at this time. Just be sure that the cabin is confirmed.

Ships have what they call "3/4 maximums". During peak times when families travel, these maximums are often exceeded.

So, just because a cabin may be able to accomodate 4, there is no guarantee they will allow a 4th at the last minute.

Back up a little bit and check to see if suites this size are even available at this date - we are taking Alaska cruise this summer with our 17 and 21 year olds and had considered getting a large suite - few or none were available on the dates we wanted (and we also reconsidered and got 2 cabins instead - realize why this is not option for you)

Book the last minute?
Are you crazy? Good luck!

Most Alaskan cruises are already sold-out.
Just because you desire a large suite, never assume that it will be available.
Have you thought of 2 connecting cabins?

Are you working with a cruise specialist (agent)?
