Booking a cruise

Going On a DCL cruise the end of January, not during any holiday .Wondering If I should book it now or wait to see if the fares go down? Do they go down closer to the date?Anyone have experience with this ?

Book now for best cabin selection. Then regularly monitor the price of your cabin class. If it goes down (as it did in my case several months ago) call your travel agent (I recommend you use one) and have the price recalculated. I saved $300+.

Thanks for responding. I've been looking Online at sites such as Priceline Expedia. Cruises... I guess they won't do that if the fares get lower.

If you search around at cruisefish.net you can find the price history for your cruise. When is final payment? Usually prices drop dramatically after final payment, but if you book then your cabin choices may be fewer than if you book now. Find out the date of final payment. You can book through the cruise line directly or through a travel agent. We are partial to crucon.com (no connection to the company, but I've used them for several cruises. Crucon will add on board credit, amounting to about 10% of your fare, to your reservation.
