Heretoday--Nope, you didn't do anything wrong. While Ray is the cheapest on many cruises, this particular cruise has ecruises.com coming in the cheapest. If you want to book it, please mention my name, Peter Spadafino, as they do pay referrals for new customers.

Peter--I think Hannah was talking about blocking cabins, I'm not sure if that entails paying for them or just committing to selling them. Unless they buy them as a group and then when resold they supply the names. If that is the case your payment goes to the agency, not the cruise line. If they belly up then the individual is out the cash, with no cruise booked.
That is why I like ecruises.com and cruisequick.com, the payment go directly to the cruise line. Thanks for the support.

Thanks PeterS, but I'm already booked on a cruise in July on the Dawn. I think it's the same deal as Hannah had, altho I booked with Carlson. As my agent explained it Carlson pre bought so many cabin for resale by their membership agencies. If they don't sell, then there will be a fire sale close to the sale date or the agents themselves will use them. The inventory belongs to Carlson. I am not worried about them going out of business, but the airline I'm flying, well that's another story. I got a great deal on a balcony cabin. Hope you have a great time and I will too.

I was actually looking for one of the 7 day cruises (October) when I came across the 14 day on May 3. The price was close enough that I figured that the extra 7 days of sun was well worth the money. From everything I'm finding out, everyone who has cruised the Dawn so far has loved it. Happy Cruising
