Best excursion for Mayan sites

We are cruising on ncl Sea Texaribbean cruise in July and have never seen any Mayan ruins. We would like to take an excursion from Belize City or Cancun. Any recommendations? Also has anyone done the flightseeing tour to Blancaneaux Lodge in Belize?

Thanks for your help.

How long are you in port?

We will be in port at Belize City from 7am to 6pm and in Cancun from 8am to 4pm. Don't want to be rushed and don't want to miss the boat.

In Cancun I would skip going to Chitzen Itza if that is the case. Not enough time. However go south about 1.5-2 hrs. to see Tulum. There are 2 ecological parks that way as well, Xcaret ans Xel-ha. Should be plenty to do. Cheers, Larry

Thanks for the help. We'll save Chitzen Itza for another trip. And most likely visit Tulum. It looks like a beautiful setting. Anyone have any info on Belize ruins?

Chitzen Itza would be nice if they offer an air tour. We did a Holland American Tour whose port of call was Cozumel. From Cozumel we took their tour and flew over to Chitzen Izta, very efficient use of time. It was fantastic and a highlight of the tthe entire cruise. I don't know if this will be an option in Cancun.
