Best cruise line for my age, without people fighting.
 

I am still looking for an answer. Everyone was fighting before, but hardly anyone answered my questions. <BR><BR>I am looking for a cruiseline for two 25 year olds. I don't want a stuffy crowd, but I don't want a ship that looks like Las Vegas. I was thinking probibly Royal Caribbean, or Princess. Do these lines have much for my age group to do. We are not looking for parties, but we don't want to be with a bunch of seniors.

I think it depends on where you are going. If this is a 7 day island cruise, most ships will be fine. If you are looking at longer, and more exotic destinations you will find an older crowd. They have more money and time.<BR><BR>I don't care for the food on RCCL. We enjoyed Celebrity, and there were lots of younger people.<BR><BR>You should be safe on most ships depending on where you are going. There is one that you do not want to go on, and that is Cunard Caronia.....it was one of those exotic destinations, full of elderly British. Nothing against the elderly, but this ship had nothing to offer.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it was my understanding that as of the last few years RCCL owns Celebrity. I've been seeing several comparisons between the two and thought I'd try to clear this up.

Yes, RCCL does own Celebrity. They still are separate of sorts. Their is no comparison in the food or service. We were on RCCL for 17 days, and have been on Celebrity twice. I had hoped that some of the nice meals would have rubbed off on RCCL.......It didn't. OH, even their internet rates are different, 50 cents on minutes on RCCL, and 95 cents on Celebrity.

Celebrity's internet service is also 50 cents per minute. I used it on the Summit less than a week ago.<BR><BR>Based on your description of what interests you, both RCI and Princess would be good choices. Celebrity would also fit, depending on the length of the cruise and itinerary chosen.<BR><BR>Regards...Bob

I called Celebrity yesterday, and they told me it was 95 cents. Obviously someone was confused.....glad to hear it is less.

Celebrity now, Carnival later when you have kids, and finally Holland America when you have the gout. <BR><BR>I'm cruise guy. I know best.

<BR>Cruznut 6<BR><BR>We were on the same cruise!<BR><BR>We've been on Princess ( 4 ), Holland<BR>America ( 1 ), Norwegian ( 1 ), Seabourn<BR>( 1 ), Renaissance ( 1 ), Carnival ( 3 )<BR>and now Celebrity.<BR><BR>Celebrity is as good as Princess was, or<BR>slightly better. Food was good--not<BR>as wonderful as we had been told, but we<BR>live in the Food Capital of California, so we are spoiled.<BR><BR>No fights--crew works well together. Art auction confined to one smallish area, not spread all over the lounges and public halls. Excellent dining service.<BR>On the "Lido" style deck cafe, they hand you the tray, with linen liner and silverware, you don't do it yourself. They serve the food onto the plate, carry<BR>your tray to the table.<BR><BR>Had a lovely cabin with balconey and sliding door. Sliding doors are better<BR>than swinging doors, as they can be left open and the air conditioning stays on.<BR><BR>Great entertainment. Celebrity orchestra one of the best on any ship. Singers and dancers equally talented. On many ships you have a dozen dancers, one great one, the rest okay. One singer much better, the rest okay. These were all fairly equal, and on the better-than-average side.<BR><BR>The lead singers had great voices, good delivery. Celebrity Theatre had fabulous site lines.<BR><BR>Kids well taken care of and out of the way in the daytime. Lots of shops, prices not too bad.<BR><BR>No "in your face" photographers. Had the usual set up in port, but only saw roving photogs on formal nights at dinner. In fact, we only saw them once. No pushing of booze except the first day. Had to flag down a steward in the theatre, and they don't bug you during the performance.<BR><BR>Lounge bands very good. David Gillespie,<BR>featured entertainer was fabulous. I would pay to see him on land.<BR><BR>And, yes, the internet connection was 50 cents a minute. <BR><BR>There were a few downers ( the hair dryers suck ) but all in all, great value, and no hint of Joe Farcus and his<BR>Las Vegas overkill. Contemporary, but subdued.<BR><BR>I would vote for Celebrity or Princess.
