Best Cruise

Hi, Can anyone recommend a reliable cruise company?

SusieQQ May 8th, 2010 01:52 AM

Not quite sure what you mean by reliable? Dependable, trustworthy? Not words that I would consider when looking for a cruise....Maybe you could restate your request?

None of the major cruise ships are likely to sink, if that's what you mean. You need to do some basic research on cruisecritic.com. There is no one "best cruise". It depends upon what's most important to you.

When and where? The question makes no sense without some clarification. Give us something to work with.

Are you looking for a reliable company to book a cruise with or a reliabe travel agent? Pease clarify. Most here are happy to help. Cheers, Larry :-)

You mean the one that won't go bankrupt? There is travel insurance for that.

I think the OP won't come back.

Are you going to Jamaica? I hate you :))

Eschew May 14th, 2010 07:00 AM

Nah Mon. Been there, done that, and hope not to return anytime soon, especially Orco Rios.

I guess their "free" rum altered my memories - we took a ship tour in Montego Bay.

Actually we had a stop in Ocho last Feb. 2009. I really don't know why but the reviews for Ja. in general are not so good these days. We had three wonderful vacations there but that was quite a while ago. The last one was in 1995 I think. We did get a rather hard sell in Feb. from a tour guide but actually we used him and it was pretty nice and very economical. The 1st time we went was 1987 and I recall reading that if your friendly with the locals they more than return it and we found that to be true. I do hope they can get it back together as most Jamaicans are warm and friendly and have e certain vibe all their own.

Didn't have much luck there (Ocho Rios). Seems to constantly running into pushy and agressive peddlars who is there to squeeze dollars from vistiors on every opportunity. Guides who openning telling everyone that they work for tips, and ask for it; and shop keepers who are more scam artists than shop keepers. The local population is friendly enough. The infrastructure is crumbling. The pot holes on the roads is gianatic. The list goes on and on.

Thats sad really. I do remember a whole different experience.
