Bermuda's favorites
I do not want you to research for me, only if you have your own experience on what to do at Bermuda in May. List your favorites please. We are going to be at St.George, Hamilton Kings Wharf 2 days each. Thanks

You are visiting my favorite cruise destination!! With the amount of time you have, you will be able to do everything that you find of interest.
We docked at St George the entire time (on NCL Majesty) and bought our bus tickets for 3-4 days. That way, you can hop on and off the bus anytime, and go all over the island. Bermuda is small, and it is possible to go from end to end in short order.
The shopping street in Hamilton is nice, as are the shops at Kings Wharf and in St George. We also like to go beach hopping. There is a glass blowing factory and an acquarium and a perfume factory.

I enjoyed the ferry rides! One day, we got blasted by high seas and spray. Wet, yes, but the sea was so wild and the sun so bright and the day so happy -- we just laughed and laughed and then sat in the sun to dry out. Whole ferry was laughing. The rides can be adventuresome or sedtae, but you're once again on the sea.

I, too, love Bermuda. We've been there ten times. I also want to suggest the ferry/bus pass. You can buy it for one day's use, two, a week, etc. and it's good on both the ferry (worth the ride) and the bus that goes all over the island. Shopping on Front Street is great, but we find better buys at the shops on the street above it. There's also a nice grocery store that sells just about everything up there on the corner. When we asked an islander where it was, they actually walked us to it. The people are so nice. We were there on the Saturday right after 9-11 and they actually cried with us. The glass blowing place out on the dockyard is a great place to watch an interesting demonstration. I've never found a beach I didn't like. Enjoy! BTW, which ship are you going on?

The girls will love Bermuda for the same reason many of us love it - it is clean, friendly, accessible, they speak English, and it is beautiful. And the only downside will not matter to them - it is expensive. (Although you might want to warn them that a shopping is not that much fun when they see the prices!).
Take the bus to the beach. You can do the Perfume Factory, Crystal Caves and Swizzle Inn on one day (the Inn sells food, not just great drinks!)
St. George and Hamilton each have weekly street fairs to coincide with time ships are in port.
We did Boston-Bermuda cruise with our teens 2 years ago. Although it was not problem for us, seas can be rough, so be prepared with seasick stuff. Also, do not argue with girls about how much stuff they bring with them (I tried and lost with my 14 year old dtr). Just tell them if they pack it they have to haul it, store it, and can't take up more than 1/2 the cabin. Every teenage girls needs 10 pairs of shoes for a 7 day trip, right?
We did not do a lot of cruise-excursions, since Bermuda is so easy to get around on. But we did schedule one for day of departure (glass bottom kayak) since we had to be back on ship early afternoon and were worried if we went out on our own we might miss sailing or be so worried about it that we wouldn't go anywhere.
I believe when ship moves from St. George to Hamilton you do not have to be on ship, but can meet up with it at new part of island - I suggest doing that since it then gives you a whole day to spend doing things on Bermuda.
And I don't think you can stay forever - there is some sort of strict rule about foreigners owning property and also working.

Hi Gail..I've been lurking.. Went to the Travel Show in Boston and couldn't get a straight answer from NCL about the Majesty 2007. We did though go on our 50th anniversary cruise from Barcelona to Ft; Lauderdale in October and I'm hooked.. I'll never do the Caribbean..EVER just perhaps Bermuda or Europe...or maybe S. America.. Been watching the Bermuda Gazette on line about Bermuda and I want to go back asap... The stores in St. George, especially Polly's have closed, Front Street shopping ain't what it used to be...It's a whole story, but we have been building a three season sun room...and are almost finished.. Oh yes.. we are off to the D.R. on the 12th..for a week of sun. If Ziana is interested in other Bermuda sites she can write [email protected]. By the way nobody mentioned the Discovery Center in Bermuda.. One of the things if I had teens going to Bermuda is to keep an eye on them...with walkie talkies..if necessary. The fact that the ships stop in St. George and you can walk or take the bus from the Tourist Center to the beach .. the girls will love that. Would also look into the Helmet Dive..Being in the Dockyard the Peppercorn company is located near by.. Ziana would be wise to make reservations ahead of time over the internet.. Ihave yet to do it, but next time is my time... Do you know about the helmet dives.. the girls would have a blast...Things are changing in Bermuda....not for the better.
