Bermuda on the Majesty
We are sailing to Bermuda on the Majesty: two families with teenagers. Does anyone have any tips about the ship or shore excursions? We have adventurous kids and would like to know what they might enjoy.

I dont have any info but you can goto cruise2.com and click on the bulletin board and there are many cruisers there who I am sure will be able to give you info -

Hi-this will be our 5th trip on the Majesty....as you know they have been bought by the Norweigans..there is/was one adventure the kids might like--even I might--it is helmet diving/walking...it looks pretty safe and from what the other people said last year it was a blast. If the water is warm enough I may try it this year....Please feel free to contact me on e-mail...I'm sure there will be new excursions under the Norweigan Line...but will be delighted to help as much as possible.

Thanks alot for the info. This is the first time we've taken a cruise with the kids. Was the ship the Royal Majesty before it got revamped or have you been on it under Norwegian Line? Do you have any teenagers? What will they enjoy on the ship? We went to Bermuda on our honeymoon 20 years ago and are going with our family now. Gotta go, thanks, Sandy

Just received my Shore Excursions from Norweigian Cruise Line--if you care to write me privaately at [email protected] I will be glad to tell you what's available.... I have never been with teenagers, but there is/was a teenage program on the ship. There are the Crystal Caves, the Helmet Dive a Kayak Safari among other things...not to mention Tobacco Cay up the street--I do not recommend the Aquarium/Zoo--very poor.. When are you going?

One of those replies is not mine......the one signed Sandy...... The Majesty is now officially the Norweigan Majesty--we have been sailing on the ship when it was known as the Royal Majesty..and it was a wonderful experience...so much so we have done it every year...like going to a fine hotel in Boston and you end up in St. George for several days...very easy.. The Norweigans came on board last year when we sailed in September and we knew there would be lots of changes... like they cut the ship in half and added 204 more rooms, additional dining room, bistro, more seats for the big show and of course the line is known for their spectacular shows... The food we'll have to see if it comes up to Royal Majesty standards..I have my doubts...the food on the RM was spectactular..they were only worried about one ship where the Norweigans have many ships...there is a difference..
Hi, we have been sailing on the Majesty every year since they started from Boston t o Bermuda. Last year was the first time under Norwegian. The food was not as gourmet as on the Royal Majesty but it was good. I thought Norwegian had better entertainment and more things to do on "sea days" If you want to know about shore excursions and children's programs you can fax NCL at 1-800-FAX-NCL1 and they will fax back the information you request. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them if I can. E-mail me at [email protected]
Pat

Your absolutely right!! Talked to the Chef last year who was left over from the RM-and he intends to change things-they all have the same menu, i.e. food, and it's up to the chef to make it sparkle..he promises to do it now...The R.M. was just one ship and they could do almost anything with the food and had a great two/three page menu--the Norweigans buy in bulk for all their ships...but the entertainment will be a sreal strong point this year--the Norweigans and the Princess line are the only ones that have their own troupes--Will be going back on the ship, our fifth time on the 30th of May--I can hardly wait to see the changes...new dining rooms, new pools, new decor... Come on aboard...everybody else is returning to see what's been done...

My Cousin and I are sailing on the Majesty on 10-3. Both first time cruisers. Your posts have been very informative, however, we have heard so many conflicting reports about the ship, like what the accommodations are, how many pools, movie theater?, specifics after the stretch-very varied answers on that, and cruising in general. We are researching as much as possible. We would love to compare notes with you. Especially since you have actually sailed on the Majesty. Please email me if you can and have a great voyage!
I finally found a newspaper article telling about the stretch on the Majesty. It answered many of my questions. For those interested it is in the NCL website-www.ncl.com under news. There are even pictures of another ship in the fleet getting a stretch job! Still one question no one seems to give a direct answer to and that is how much are the alcoholic beverages? Everyone says expensive, but how about a dollar amount?
