Find out at what time you can disembark the ship.

It is about 20 minutes from the ship to the airport.

It may dock at 6 AM...but when can YOU get off.!

All I can say is last yr. we were in a similar, practically identical situation in Copenhagen. The ship docked at 0600 and Percy is correct in that you have to wait for clearance first. However we were off the ship by 0610. You have to be at the airport 2 hrs. ahead of flight time so that means you should be OK even if you left the ship by say 0800. I think you should be fine but I would suggest taking care of your own bags.

Good Advice jacketwatch.

Yes, she HAS to take her own bags.

Be all ready to go as soon as you are able to disembark.

Just pull your bags down the hallway
and then
to the elevator..then get off at the level you have to to walk off the platform ..and you are out.

Then grab a taxi and head for the airport.
There will be early morning traffic ..but it is not that far and hopefully they opened that new second outlet from where the cruise ship docks.....so that taxi's can get out of there much faster.

Also ,have you thought of staying an extra day in Barcelona if you have not been there before!?)

Good Luck. Hi jacketwatch

Hi Percy. Well I guess the write in campaign didn't work so you will have to remain Fodors advise expert. Good for us. Also i agree about spending time in Barcelona. Good thought. For the city proper I think three days should do but you may need more if you want to venture furhter away aren't there some some places to see Percy like up in the hills, maybe an old monestary or something like that?

Ni jacketwatch

Yes , it would be nice if nygvic could spent 1-2 days in Barcelona.

Lots to see, very nice place, and one may never get there again....so for the price of a few nights hotel ,nygvic could really see Barcelona !

Just some food for thought .

Percy and I both know that two to three days in Barcelona is not enough and that is just in the city whether you use the hop-on-off bus or a private guide or a MUST SEE. Each time we go the La Rambla its different..havent gotten to the bottom yet near the water and lets not even talk about the Market.. Oh yes.. the rest of the city..lol.. so much to see.. With the rising of our $$ even our favorite hotel has to be a better bargain.

Hi Percy.. the four birds are doing fine.. one of my greys is calling me even from under the covers and their food heats up..The two dogs are still in bed, but Parrot Pop is up. Can't remember if your from N.E. or not, but just heard one of the cruise agencies I dealt with last year successfully will not be at the travel show in February.. Now if the air fare will become more reasonable to Europe Ill be delighted. Have you heard anything about the new Italian airline from Boston and several places on the east coast.. If you get a chance..fly Aer Lingus..some of the most delightful people and we didnt get charged for overage in luggage..lol

jacketwatch:

Yep, it is $1.25 US for a euro right now ,so it has come down since July.

I think this world wide financial mess has slowed down travel.

ParrotMOm:

No I have not heard anything about Italian Airlines!

Hi Percy: Well I got one more round in yesterday. The temp. hit 48F but buddy the wind was gusting up to aroud 30 mph. I dressed in layers and kept pretty warm. If this was Canada the golfers would have been in shorts.

jacketwatch:

Yes, of course at 48F I would be golfing in my bathing suit!

I put my clubs away,, one thing about the colder fairway, the ball rolls much further !
