I did the Baltic Cruise but not on the Noregian Jewel.

I did it with Princess cruise lines.

Don't know how much you are paying but perhaps other can help you about Norwegian Jewel.

Try www.cruisecritic.com for ship reviews. We did the Baltic on Princess as well. Persoanlly I think you are better off on Princess. JM2C. Larry :-)

There are a number of cruise lines that do the Baltic sea cruises, several of which are rated higher than either Norwegian or Princess. Decide how much you want to spend and consult a cruise specialist who could guide you to a cruise line in this price range.

I just completed this cruise on June 27th. Here are a few notes. The ship and crew are generally very nice. The food is okay but all the specialty restaurants carry upcharges of $15-$25. Most of the ports are easy to navigate on your own. The major exception is St. Petersburg. After quite a bit of research I organized a tour for the nine people in my group through a private local guide name Anna Artyushina. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. She worked with me to create a customized private tour for our group that was amazing. Each day we were picked up at the dock by our driver and guide and taken to see the sights of the city. She walked us past all the lines and educated us on all aspects of St. Petersburg art, history and food. The tour was less than two days of shore excursions and waaaaay better. Check her out at http://www.petersburgguide.com. Overall St. Petersburg and Stockholm are the highlights and Warnmunde is a fun stop. Leaving Stockholm at 3pm is a real shame as there is a lot to do. Don't miss Vasa and Skansen.
