BACK TO BACK CRUISES
 

We wanted to take a longer cruise in the caribbean next summer. Can you take a cruise from the eastern to the western without changing ships?

Yes some lines alternate. RCCL does for sure.

Absolutely, we took a Western Caribbean tour on the Soltice and it was only seven days which we are not accustomed to..If when booking I realized how miserable we would be after only 7 days..I would have booked another area..hopefully.. We use Celebrity and as a matter of fact many people on our cruise in october are doing back to back.. which is like 24 days plus..that;s a little long for me.

Not that familiar with Caribbean cruise but do know that back to back cruises are very frequent in Europe. So do what I call a figure eight. A loop for seven to ten days out of one port. Return to that port and do another loop in another direction.

Yes, on some cruises they even put this in a schedule: if you stay on the ship for another cruise, blah, blah, blah...

We are doing that in November. 1st Eastern then Western. This is the 3rd time we have done this. It is so much easier to stay on the same ship than switch ships. We booked way ahead this time (hate having to wait though!) so do not have to switch cabins but have had to do that and it was no big problem. We have gotten so 7 days is not long enough! Really get to know the ship and crew, its the way to cruise if you can!

The other way to know the crew Bonniejns is to take a trans-atlantic or Med. cruise which are from 11 to 16 days.. There are people on our upcoming cruise who are doing back to back over 20 plus days...the Holyland and then their t/a back to the States..
