back to back cruise
 

We are doing a back to back cruise starting April 24 on Glory than May 1 on Valor. Does anyone know if its a easy transition. Are the ships close or in different areas? Any information is appreciated. This is a first for us, but we are so excited to do it. Anyone else doing this on these ships?

Both ship should be at the same port. You get off one and then get on to the other one.

The only issue I can see is that they want you out of the ship by 10 am at the latest and you can't get on the other one until noon (maybe 11 am if you are lucky) so you have at least an hour or more of sitting around.

My suggestion is to try to get off the Glory as late as possible, if you can hang around till 11 am (even at the buffet or some public area). Youget off, you pick up your luggage, walk over to the other ship's check in and hope that they will let you on baord early.

You can try talk to the purser's on the Glory to let you stay late and speak to Carnival reservation directly and see if you can pre-arrnage early baording, with the understanding that your cabin will not be clean and ready.

Why are you changing ships? The Glory goes to the Eastern Caribean then the Western Caribean. We did this, a B2B, on the Glory in November and we have always stayed on the same ship for B2Bs.

The Glory and the Valor are both Conquest class ships. Their laypout/floorplan is identical. We have been on both ships.

But, next week we are going on Carnival then, day we get back, we are going on Princess. We will drive from Miami to Fort Lauderdale to do this. We booked Carnval last Saturday. The price was so good didn't want to pass it up!(And, we are cruise-a-holicas!)

Go to cruisecritic.com. Then go to 'boards' then their Roll Call. You have to join to get there but joining could not be safer. At the Roll Call go to Carnival, then your ship, then date you are sailing.

You will find a lot of people who will be on the Glory and the Valor when you'll be on. You email each other. An example of Roll Call is tour we're taking in Roatan.

Thru the Roll Call we have a private, all day tour, 26 of us, for $20.00. The price is normally $45 but was lowered because there will be 26. We have also had private sunset snorkeling in Aruba, and feeding turtles in Barbadoes, all set up by people in the Roll Call! These tours were set up by someone on the Roll Calls. Then others joined them.

We thought about staying on the same ship, but decided to try another. Figured the shows might be different, and wanted to see different decor. Any particular good excursions, or places to see. Were taking our own snorkel gear and I usually book excursions outside of the ship. We did Victory out of San Juan last April, different port each day. We had a blast. This time we have sea days, so we will have more time on the ship. Any information you can share I appreciate. I also check cruise critic, travel advisor forum and anything else I can find.

Unfortuantely, the shows are the same throughout the fleet. The variations would be the cast. Those shows stay on the rotation from 9 mnths to 18 months. We are still seeing some shows this past October that we saw in late 2009. To be fair, the show was debuted in 2009 and it is near the end of the run now.

Since both are Conquest class, ship layout, theme and decor wpuld also be similar, with minor differences. However, it would be a ddifferent crew,and maybe having different spins. I am quite sure you will enjoy both trips just the same.
