I am having a hard time believing in the sick mother given how long this is taking.

I know if my mother was sick and needed me, I would do anything to get over my fear of flying and get there ASAP! Take a tranquilizer and get on the plan and at least get out of the Ukraine. Pretty soon you might not be able to get out at all!!!!

When I first saw this thread I was very sympathetic and I wanted to help. I no longer believe any of this is true. How could the OP be more afraid of flying than being in a country that's about to be invaded by the Russians? And how could anyone put their fear of flying ahead of a sick mother?

If by chance this is true, then the OP is very foolish to stay in the Ukraine and very selfish to put his fears ahead of his mother's needs.

OP has been fretting about this since mid-January (his/her other thread on a similar topic was started on January 14).

He/she could have asked a doctor for a prescription sedative, taken whatever Coved test were required a few days before departure, flown to the US and been by his/her ailing motherís bedside in less than 24 hours.

Another thing that doesn't make sense, how has to OP been traveling all this time without having been vaccinated? Maybe it's possible but it would be most unwise. The OP is also very new to this forum. I smell a troll.

Sounds like the OP has been living in Ukraine, not traveling. Although, of course, remaining unvaccinated either way is [expletive deleted].

You could be right. Especially since we haven't heard from him lately.

Read post #20. Although since you would now count as a refugee, the requirements may have changed.

Actually, the info you need is here: https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...n-Ukraine.html

No need to bother the embassy, which is probably super busy, if not yet closed.

It's hard to believe you are still there now that a war is actually taking place. I hope you're able to at least get out of Ukraine

You, and a great many other people. Good luck getting a seat on a train. Well, a great many women and children, Ukrainian men are required to stay.
