Any ships go to Cuba?

If an American wanted to visit Cuba on a cruise, is there any legal way that this can be done without filling out a bunch of papers with the US government?

Can I just fly to San Juan or Mexico and catch a cruise to Cuba? I have never heard of any cruise ships stopping in Cuba.

I don't think so. The only ships that might go there would be a European Line.
Hang in there for awhile. Cuba may be opening up soon.

In addition to European cruise lines, I believe Canadian cruise lines also go there.

I've read somewhere that U.S. citizens will go to Cozumel and/or Cancun in Mexico and catch flights from there to Cuba.

You can sail to Cuba without the Treasury Department's OK but you could get in deep trouble since it is still illegal. You may not get caught and some Americans have sailed there but not since 9/11.

For those companies that sail there is Fred Olsen, La Habana (Cuba Cruise Corp.), Sea Cloud Cruises, Sun Cruises, Dreamline Cruises and West Indies Cruises.

Ya'lla tours is now initiating Cuba tours.

Here are the regulations: Groups licensed by the Treasury Dept. Religious, educational, journalists, professionals attending meetings or workshops, humantarian organizations, professonal researchers, those participating in athletic competitions.

If you fall into any of the above categories you can take the trip.

Ya'lla Tours originate from NYC, Miami and Los Angeles.

Good luck,

Paul
