just read on frommers.com under their previous newsletters that RCCL and Celebrity just waved the single supplement charge due to lagging reservations for cruises this winter and spring. Mentioned that you can book it through the cruise line itself or from one of the larger cruise brokers or agencies. About 3 ships are excluded from the deal but hey if you can snag a room for $500 for a week go for it.
The single supplements have been waived only until the end of this year. Whether they continue into next year is not yet known.

The only cruise lines that always had single rates at a substantial discount are the upscale lines but their rates are high to start with.

Paul

Paul
According to Frommers.com the single supplement has been waived for cruises between Nov 1 to March 31, 2002 on RCCL and Celebrity, but that you must book by Dec 15. So according to them it's not just good till the end of this year.
So according to Frommers Solo cruisers will not have to pay extra during that period. BTW the 3 ships excluded from the deal are "Summair", "Vision of the Seas" and "Splendor of the Seas".
Happy Travels, CB
Cunard's QE 2 and Caronia have single cabins, as does NCL's SS Norway. The Rembrandt of Premier Lines used to have 'em as well.
Do you see the pattern here? OLDER ships (built for tranportation) have single cabins.
