I am considering a cruise on Royal Olympic's new ship, Olympic Voyager. I cannot find much info on this cruise line--only that most of the ships are old and run by Greek crews. I would appreciate any opinion you may have on the food, service,etc. <BR>Thanks.

They have a great web site. Use a search engine and type in "Royal Olympic Cruise Line" I have heard they're excellent. Very Greek. Very professional. I would consider them, I think.

I have travelled on this cruise line more than once. I find them friendly, open, and well-run. The ships are smaller and older, yes, but that is part of the charm. You will find them recommended highly at www.greektravel.com because they really know their stuff.

I am going on a Royal Olympic Cruise in 2 days. I tried to get a booking on the Olympic Voyager, but it was sold out. The O.V. itinerary & price seemed terrific. I was told that the Triton, on which I'm sailing, originally was part of the Cunard fleet. I was attracted to the size of the ships, having sailed on large (Crystal), small (Windstar) and in-between. Greek ships are reputed to have excellent food, as well. I found it possible to upgrade to a very superior room by paying only slightly more than the package price. I'll post my findings when I return, but my search of the marketplace convinced me that RO is worth a try.

The Voyager, which is being christened now, is the fastest ship ever built (with the exception of the new Carnival Victory now being built). <BR> <BR>The itinerary can not be beat. I will be sailing her in 2001. <BR> <BR>If you prefer more time at sea, this is the wrong ship for you. <BR> <BR>I receive mixed reactions from my customers on Olympic's other ships. Old, not maintained well, food just so-so. I cruised their other ships and found them average. If you do not care for the European culture, then do not sail any of their ships. <BR> <BR>If you are a steak and potato person find another cruise line. <BR> <BR>Some people are very critical, especially on this forum. Please, if anyone has information about the Olympic Voyager kindly let me know. I am very concerned since it is soo new. I am booked on the August 5 sailing with my family (includes two cranky teens). I would appreciate any information that can be offered esp. about what to do at the ports--Istanbul, Ephessos, Jerusalem, Cairo, Santorini, Rhodes and Mykonos. We are looking forward to the cruise but are a little nervous. Any reassurances will help greatly. Thanks!

Sorry to add a non-answer to this thread, but I'm eager to hear reactions to this cruise. We're planning a Med cruise of some sort for fall 2001, and the Oly.Voy.sounds great. I wonder, tho', if all that very fast travel will preclude lazing around on deck. Will passengers be forced below by the wind & noise, as on a Greek hydrofoil? Hope you early bookers will respond on this forum!

<BR>Jeez Teri,the ship is 25,000 tons, 590 feet long.....it's not an airboat. <BR> <BR>The fastest it goes is 27 knots, compared to other ships that are 22 - 24 knots. You would not notice the difference.
