Any cruise/shipping history buffs out there?

Wondering if anyone could help me find out how much transatlantic passage, in 1st and 2nd class, would have been ca. 1931. Anyone have a bright idea where to look? Anyone know?

The only tidbit I can add is something I recall reading about 2-3 yrs. ago. That is in 1912 a first class ticket on the ill fated Titanic came to about 50K in USD in present terms! Yikes.

HKP...You post intrigued me...go to this site.....www.steamships.org.....a wealth of information.I looked at a brichure from 1923.The only reference to pricing was to "tours" way down in the brochure like 2 weeks Europe tour $675.00 including passage....But just reading the brochure was a "wow",seeing some of our today terminology way back then!!

Go to cruisecritic.com, then to 'boards' then down to 'Where are they now?' Those are questions about old ships, crew members, entertainers, etc. If you ask your question here, you might get the answer you're looking for.
