An different take on the Triumph incident

I did not know the pics and bar tabs were comped as well. |
Sensationalism sells newspaper (or up TV ratings). Nothing changed through the years. Those who complained the loudest probably get the most attention. If they show pictures of shrimp cocktails and double burgers, there is no horror story to tell.
Do you trust what's printed on newspaper these days or the so call "news" stories on TV? It is getting harder and harder to "belief". Seems like everytime a criminal got shot by the Police for whatever reason, you always heard that the "victim" was a good kid and tried to go straight, too bad the police had to gun them down. There is no mentioning of all previous criminal records, a volient history, weapons etc. The cop became the bad guy and the crook is now the victim. Journalism integrity may become a thing of the past. :( |
We need more Cronkites, Brinkleys, Huntleys and Murrows.
Speaking of the past lets go back further though. Wasn't it Hearst to made the story to sell the papers. |
Considering the source, Washington Times..founded by Unification Church leader Rev. Sun Myung Moon, I wonder about the quality and itegrity of it's reporting.

Its ownership and politics aside, The Washington Times does employ professional journalists, and people have posted similar kinds of experiences on CruiseCritic.com. I think some cabins were definitely worse off than others, and I think some hallways had more sewage problems than others. Running water and electricity were not restored to the entire ship. And I have read widely of food-hoarding (one reason the crew stopped allowing people to load up their own plates from a buffet-style line. So the truth is that some people who were slower and didn't show up on time for food service may have gotten onion sandwiches. Some did not.
Regardless, it has been my experience that people sometimes exaggerate the depth of a problem and the amount of inconvenience without actually "lying". They just recall the situation in different emotional terms. (This is one reason why eyewitness testimony is some of the least reliable kind of testimony presented in court.) |
Power weas restored to the front of the ship as the front engine room were not damaged. Power was never restored to the aft of the ship. The Triumph was resupplied twice from 2 different Carnival ships in the area.
So DOud is correct in saying that some are worst off than thers. |
