alcohol in alaska

many questions have been asked about alcohol in your own cabin (bringing your own on board) we want to know is it easy to buy new stocks of wine/liquer in the ports of Alaska, (are there plenty of liquer stores in the prots?). we don't want to be coming on board blatently with too much at the beginning but thought it would be best to buy a bottle when off the ship? we will be on Infinity - do they check your bags each time you get back on?

Yes, liquor was readily available in all the ports we went to (Seward, Skagway, Junea, Ketchikan).

I was told by my travel agent, that one is not allowed to bring alcohol on board the ship -- at all. This was a great disappointment, since my husband and I had hoped to bring select bottles from our wine cellar for the sailing -- certainly not because we are cheap, but because we wanted to finally uncork some special stuff. It's too bad. If anyone has heard as to the contrary, please let me know. Thank you. Ps. We're sailing the Infinity to Alaska.

Thank you Paul. Perhaps we will try it.
