alaskan cruise
Have decided on NCL for an Alaskan cruise, summer 2008. Me, my husband, 23 year old daughter. Any advice on what kind of cabin is best? Would like a balcony. Thanks.

If you would like a balcony, then take is the "best" for you. What itinerary are you looking at?? IF Glacier Bay, you are best on the port side. If sailing Tracy Arm- I STRONGLY suggest you budget into your itinerary the Tracy Arm jet boat tour. WAY SUPERIOR compared to the cruise ship, which has a good chance of not getting within sight of the glaciers.

What vendor offers the Tracy Arm jet boat or is it offered only through the cruiseline? It sounds like a great excursion. |
It depends on your budget. You can get a room with a balcony, a junior suite with a balcony or a full suite with a balcony as well. The more you pay the bigger the room or cabin is. For three a JS would be good if budget permits. We actually did 4 adults in a balcony cabin once and though doable it was a bit cramped at times. Have fun. Larry :-)

The Tracy Arm jet boat is a NCL exclusive excursion at $184pp. You will reboard your ship in Tracy Arm.
I just put together a photo sample of the IMPORTANCE of this tour. In the photos, this was the CLOSEST the ship got to the glaciers, and was the FIRST time last year the ship got within viewing- sailing date 7-22-07. I'll link it in the next post. |
