I did a 12 night on Celebrity from Vancouver via Alaska to San Diego last September. Weather in Alaska was very unpredictable. We would wake up to heavy fog, afternoons would be sunny and within minutes it was raining, or the other way around. Still had a great time in Alaska. On the way back we had beautiful weather in Victoria, San Framcisco, Catalina Island and San Diego. The trip up was very smooth, since the ship never leaves the inside passage. On the way back the Pacific was smooth as well, I believe we had 1 day of noticable swells, but nothing that interupted any activities on the ship.
No way to predict you will have the same thing, but that's part of cruising, especially when you travel to that part of the world. Have a great trip! |
thank you

You don't mention when in Sept. I don't recommend anything past the first week for a first timer. It is just so much better all the way around earlier. Unless you can snag a significant discount go earlier. Negatives, cooler weather, more rain and dusk by 7pm.

We had unpredictable weather in June, you never know. I new people who went last week of September last year, and had great weather.

We are going to take our chances this year. Sept. 18th for a 7 day to Alaska then reposition back to Ft.Laud. from Sept. 25 to Oct. 18- we might get all the bad weather or none.
It might be a wild ride- we'll see- post when we get home. We heard that Aug. & Sept. are the best months on Alaska and Pacific Northwest, but hurricanes are in the Caribbean in Oct. I'm going to request a seatbelt! We'll be on HAL Maasdam if you watch the news. |
