Alaska on the Sea Princess

just returned from 7 nights Seward-Vancouver - would be happy to answer questions - take warm clothing - I about froze 4 days when the high was 54 degrees!

Hi! We are going on the Sea Princess on August 25. Can you please tell me how formal the formal nights were. i.e., should my husband take a tux and how dressy do the women get?
Thank you
Ilene

Sailed on the Dawn from Seward over 4th of July. My husband wore a dark suit and I wore a black dress one night, a dark red velvet dress for the other. We both fit in fine. Some of the men wore tuxes, maybe 30%, but it isn't really necessary.

The women ran the gamut. I was probably on the medium to high-end of dressy, but some wore full-on sparkly gowns, etc. It feels a little strange because it's broad daylight out at 9pm.

I agree with Julie.
And some women wear dressy street dresses, nice pant suits and some wear long dresses. It's what you're comfortable in on formal nights. You'll see everything.
We've cruised 17 times and 10 times with Princess. My husband usually wears the same dark suit, changes his tie and shirt and that is suitable.
Bon Voyage!
I am planning an alaskan cruise next august. I didn't realize it was so co....ld that time of year. Did you love the cruise? What did you do during the days? One can only look at the landscape so long, although i hear it is breathtaking!
