Looking for a recommendation for an Alaska land/sea cruise for 14 days

Do a 1-way cruise. Rent a car for a week. Drive yourself to Denali and one town on Kenai Peninsula

Go to the Princess web site. They do great land/cruise voyages.

I'd do a 7-day one-way from Vancouver to Alaska through the inside passage (there are several options re cruise line, large and small ship) and do the land portion on my own.

We did a cruise/land tour to Alaska with Celebrity a few years ago. If I ever could get DH into a cruise ship again (not likely) I would only do the cruise portion and would do the land totally on our own.

The good things about the cruise ship land trip: They handled the luggage, they made all transportation and hotel arrangements.

That said, we had no say in where to stay, how long to stay in any one place, we were herded onto a bus, train, etc. We were with two other couples who didn't want to arrange for car, hotels etc. so we went along. If we were on our own, we would have spend less money and more time in places we really wanted to see, like Denali, Wrangell St. Elias, etc.

If you go to the US forum and put in Alaska or Alaska trip reports into the search box you will find lots of information on how others have done the trip and what they liked about their plan. Doing your own land portion does involve a bit more effort on your part, but IMHO is truly worth the effort.

I would fly to Anchorage, do the land portion on your own, and then cruise from Anchorage to Vancouver.

I went on Holland America, who visits Glacier Bay. I think that is the priority.

One nice thing about Vancouver is how easy it is to get from the cruise port to the airport, unlike Seattle.

Of course you can also do it in reverse if the timing works better.
