?AirTran or Southwest?
 

In your opinion which is best? Trying to decide which to use to fly down for our cruise in September.

India....usually, I would opt for whichever would go non-stop.....I understand that it is now possible to confirm a pre reserved seat if you book AirTran on their website.Depends on what is important to you.

India, you don't say where you are flying from or to, however, I'd bet that Southwest has a much more frequent and convenient schedule. They are always among the top "on time" airlines, which can be very important in getting to your ship. Overall, they have been among the most reliable of carriers for over 30 years, and, since they are the only ones who always make a profit, year after year, they must be doing something right! I'd say Southwest is the safer bet.

Thank Rover. We'll be flying from BWI in Baltimore, MD into Orlando. I recently read an article that Southwest was ranked #3, with AlaskaAir #2 and JetBlue #1. I'd really like to try JetBlue but it does not fly in to Orlando from Dulles, only Ft. Lauderdale. Southwest's price beat AirTrain by abou5 $30.00.

I agree with others, since all carriers have problems, delays, etc., try to go with the one that is non-stop. Once the plane leaves, you know your next stop is your destination. I fly a lot and its always been my experience that the biggest problems involve connecting flights such as delays, missing connections, etc.

P.S. India, September is also Hurricane Season which can make flights difficult too. We always fly down a day early to avoid late arrivals, missing the ship, etc. It also makes for a MUCH more pleasant first day (relaxed) on the cruise.
