Access to Hotel Atlantis
 

We will be cruising on RCCL next week. They offer an excursion to the hotel Atlantis, but it is $66/person. I would prefer to save some money and take a taxi and purchase a pass. Does the Hotel Atlantis offer a pass to allow the public access to their property? We don't want to swim but I want to be able to wander the grounds and see the DIG.

Email them to double check but I think it's about $25 to $35 pp.plus taxi and bridge toll. Still cheaper than the ship tour.

Me again, there is, also, some ferry over to Paradise Island then walk to Atlantis (a kinda far walk, esp., if it's hot).

Maybe someone else can give you more info. as I've never taken it.

Take a taxi, it is only a few minutes drive and no walk. I know there are $25 tours sold by hotel but it is only inside the Atlantis, no beaches/slides. If your $66 excursions includes use of all Atlantis facilities, it is worth it. Otherwise, you need to book a day stay to enjoy all they have. We stayed for a week there and it was marvelous.

I was under the impression that Atlantis was much like any giant Vegas resort, that access to all the public areas, lobbies, grounds, restaurants, bars, and casinos was open to the public on the chance they will stay and spend. I get that you can't use their pool or get into private exhibits without being a guest or paying extra, but are you saying there is an entrance fee just to mosey around? We'll be stopping on a short RCCL cruise in a few weeks and thought my 85 y/o MIL would enjoy seeing Atlantis, but not at $25.00 a pop to get in!

You can go in the lobby, casino, hotel restaurants & shops at no charge.

The outside portions with the swimming and aquariums have a fee.

When Atlantis first opened - there was no charge for anything - then the general public started showing up in droves and it was not right that the hotel guests had to contend with such crowds - so the fee was instituted.
It is beautiful and interesting but just to see fish,IMO-not worth it on a per person basis. Go to Miami Seaquarium or SeaWorld before the cruise.

You may want to check hotel rates for the Comfort Suites accross the street as they have full access to the resort's ammenities. You can just get a room for the night. Sometimes it is cheaper to do this vs. the cruise line tour but since it's high season the Comfort Inn rooms may cost more. But sometimes people get lucky and book the CS for $120/nt.
