A&K and TAuck
How does A&K compare to Tauck tours. Where have you gone with them---are they worth the extra money?
|
We've taken 5 Tauck tours (various Europe and Eastern Canada) and one A&K (Danube). Both are excellent - A&K tours are smaller and stay at more upscale hotels/restaurants (though Tauck's are very good, too). If the itineraries are the same, I would opt for Tauck but the itinerary should determine your choice, assuming you have the money for either. You'll have a wonderful trip no matter which you choose.

We have not traveled with A&K, but will do our 11th in May with Tauck. We hesitate to change companies, though most of our friends travel with GCT. We have just had SUCH wonderful trips and always seem to come home saying we couldn't have done it on our own for less money. We've done everything from two European river cruises, Switzerland, Western France, Ireland, several in Canada, Michigan and Florida and in May will fly to Rome and do a Mediterranean cruise with Tauck. In fact, we're going with three other couples we met years ago on our France tour and have done two others with them.

Desertduds, you sound like great trave--lers---have you ever gone to Tahiti---any thoughts on cruise lines (we loved Oceania) like Aranui/Freighter, Royal Clipper, Star Flyer,Regent, etc.?
|
Rhardy5444, you like Tauck like everybody does who takes it! Great Tripas and guides! Where else have you been---any cruises?
|
Have not gone to Tahiti, but last year did another Tauck tour AU/NZ, 10 days on land and 12 day Princess cruise, wonderful...how could I forget to mention that one? You cannot go wrong! We have only cruised with HA/Princess and definitely want to go on Oceania, may do that in the fall and do the Baltic cruise.

To travelforever, yes, we've been on cruises(Seabourne - the best, Silverseas, Princess, Windstar, Mississippi Queen, and French Country Waterways) and have traveled extensively through Europe on our own. Will shorly go on an American Cruise Line trip from Charleston to Jacksonville on the inside passage.

travelforever, if you loved Oceania, you would certainly love the Regent's Paul Gauguin in Tahiti. We've in twice for a total of 24 days on the ship. We have a great TA with great prices, if you'd like a review I wrote or other information, contact me at [email protected].
