The Pacifico Brewery is in Mazatlan. I'm sure they have tours. We've never done it, but try this link and see what you think:

I am back.....posting a trip report soon.

Stopped at the Pacifico Brewery on a trolley tour but did not get to tour the facility. I talked to one of the cruise ship customer relations guys (he was from Mexico) before we got off the ship and he said that when a ship is in port, the only way to tour the brewery is on an excursion, no walk-ins. Pretty crummy. We wanted to tour but did not want to do it on any of the excursions the ship had.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. I agree that's pretty rotten to force you to take a ship excursion to tour the brewery. I'm so tired of all the schemes to make a buck!

Cruises are nice but they get you for every dollar you have plus, in each port, the locals depend on tourism dollars and they get you too. Every tour takes you to places to spend more money (shop, drinks, food) and after the tour, tips are expected.

I don't remember anyone said anything so far, but prepare to see the "military" presence at the port. Don't be alarmed if you see "soldiers" with assult rifles and full gears standing around at the dock. They are just there and show their presence. They generally don't interact with the passengers.
That's normal for Mexican Riveria docks. They also don't want their pictures taken and they do not pose with tourists. They are especially more noticible at Cabos.

While in town and see Police with assult rifes on the bed of a pickup or jeep, they are police patrols and that's normal too. Best not to approach.

I did see a few camo guys with M-16s (Cabo & Mazatlan). No big deal, I have been other places with military presence but I can see how some people might be a little frightened by the sight.

My trip report has been posted.
