4 in a cabin?
 

I haven't cruised in almost 10 years, so excuse me if this is a stupid question, but I was just checking prices on Travelocity and got an error message when I entered two adults and two children for a Crystal Panama cruise. It would me, my wife, and two kids (6 and 3). <BR><BR>Do most lines not allow two adults and two young children in one room? Do any? Do I really have to pay for two rooms? <BR><BR>Thanks.

It depends upon the cruise line. Royal Carribean has quad cabins, as does Disney, Celebrity and I am sure there are some others out there.

Never been on Crystal ships...but I checked their ships on www.cruisestateroom.com and they don't appear to have accommodations for four. Most lines do offer at least some cabins that will accommodate 4 pax. Personally, I like the Celebrity Millenium class ships.

I just want to comment about how nice it is to see civilized replies. I asked a similar question about 6 months ago and I had the most smart-aleck replies that you can imagine. Everyone was slamming me for wanting to &quot;cram&quot; that many people in one cabin (we have 5 though instead of 4). It got so bad that the post had to be deleted when the name calling started.<BR><BR>Anyhow, I have nothing to add but I just thinks it's refreshing that the answers now are actually ANSWERS and not people hiding behind fake names trying to be funny.<BR><BR>

We were on the Celebrity Horizon with my sister, her husband and their 2 children (13 and 11). They had an outside quad cabin which consisted of a Queen bed and 2 &quot;bunks&quot; that came out from the wall. They loved it. The only problem was when my sister needed to change - but she just had the boys sit in the window and close the curtains. They called it their fort!!

Joey, You might want to cruise Celebrity, Princess or RCCL with kids. I'm afraid your children would be very lonely on a Crystal cruise. The other lines have fantastic children's programs and facilities, and the children will have some company.<BR><BR>You could get a nice suite on Celebrity for probably less than a standard cabin on Crystal. I think the quality of the kids programs and enjoyment factor for the whole family will more than make up for what quality you might sacrifice by sailing a mainstream line.<BR><BR>RCCL has fantastic family suites which we had when we sailed with our kids and they were wonderful. The kids had a great time, liked it even more than Disney, and we loved having all the room to relax in, 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms, huge walk-in closet and balcony.

Thanks for your replies.<BR><BR>I'm not committed to Crystal at all, I just saw what I thought was a good rate -- until I realized the cabin situation. We would go on any line that can accomodate 4 in a cabin without having to rent two cabins because the kids are too young for that. From what I'm hearing from you all that means I should look at Celebrity, RCCL and Princess. Back to the drawing board ...
