4 friends cruising

We are planning a trip for 4 female friends who are coming from all over to spend 50th birthdays together beginning of Dec. Any recommendations for a cruise that is 4/5 days, not alot of children, nice ship with alot of on-board activites, nice ports? We have not been cruising before. Thanks.
Hi Leslie,

All 4/5 night cruises will have quite a few children. Better re-think.

Take a 7 night, moderate price Celebrity or Holland America. Best would be upscale Seaborne, Silversea, Radisson, Cunard, Windstar, Crystal.

Renaissance will be positioning a ship in the Caribbean next year... no children under 18.

Also all Alaska sailings.

Paul
I would also recommend a 7 day cruise, but NOT Alaska in December. You might not have many children at the beginning of December. I would recommend Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, or Norwegian. Celebrity has the best food and service and is more quiet. It depends on what you're looking for.

for singles, the best scene is carnival-they have lots of singles mixers on boards ,but try for early Dec. as ALL holdiay cruise are full of kids--the best ship for food etc. is Celebrity but the clientle is mixed-from people with infants to seniors.it's my favorite line though. write back--andy

I agree with Andy that Carnival is the "party" ship, but I wouldn't recommend them . You say you are going to celebrate your 50th birthdays. You don't say if you're singles looking to mingle or four friends out to enjoy a relaxing vacation. I still say go with RCCL, NCL or my favorite--Celebrity.
The first two weeks of December are value weeks. One of the most reasonable times to cruise.

There will be plenty of kids.

If you really wish to cruise Carnival to save money, book the Sensation out of Tampa. It is a huge retirement area and the seniors outnumber the younger crowd.

Paul
