1st time doing Transatlantic sailing in Sept.....what to expect?
We're first time Transatlantic cruisers, sailing ex Venice to New York via the Azores to Bermuda and up to New York. I have heard some horror stories about bad weather but am hoping it won't be too bad in September.
I'd be grateful for your thoughts.

Early October, Rome to Fort Lauderdale--wonderful, like glass, but you never know about hurricane season. The good news is that your captain is on top of the weather changes, and big ships have wonderful stabilizers today. Have a nice sail! The Azores and Bermuda? Nice stops; did this cruise in the spring. Took the buggy ride in Bermuda expecting a cozy romantic ride. A dozen people were with us, but it was fun. Informative guide had istories along the way. Pretty views! We stopped in Punta Delgado, The Azores, did the Fire Lake tour. Bus goes through the oldest Portuguese settlement and along mountain ridges up and down--views are fabulous!

Have take the 'crossing' several times on the Windstar cruise ships (several) and NEVER had any bad weather....ships are equiped to handle it, should it happen. Go, have a wonderful time...It is a unique experience, and very restful.
