I generally will not book a ship's excursion either. They are crowded, overpriced and limit you timewise. That said, I also research the port, decide what I want to do and get solid recommendations. A place like St Lucia, you're better off taking a boat trip, the roads are that awful. I agree, this was a fluke and could happen anywhere, especially driving on dangerous roads. BTW, some of the worst experiences are the cab rides in St John with the licensed drivers! That road to Trunk Bay...YIKES!

I'll bet thats tame compared to taxi drivers in India. LOL!
