St Kitts: You should be able to do a tour of the whole island in a day.

St. Martin: Great shopping -- they do, of course, increase the prices for the cruise ship passengers.

Cupecoy beach is a great beach to pass the day. It's clothing optional so you can go with/without your swimsuits.

If you're early in the day, go to the French side of the island and visit Zee Best for the best breakfast you'll ever have. Wonderful!!!!

I can't think of a place on either island to snorkle from the beach but perhaps another poster can. Or you can always taking a snorling sidetrip --
Prickley Pear from St. Martin; Nevis from St. Kitts.

We hired a driver and van and did the whole island...
We also had the driver make lunch reservations at Rawlin's Plantation- it was AWESOME!! Ate on the terrace overlooking the gardens...

As for snorkling in St Kitts:
To answer your snorkeling question, The Marriott is on the Atlantic side and the water is to rough and dangerous for snorkeling. Bad undertows only a short ways out. It is a short walk to the caribbean side at Timothy Beach Resort where the snorkeling is very good. You can go over Timothy Hill to South Frairs Beach and Turtle Beach at the end of the South pennisula.

Here is a website on St Kitts:

We had lunch at Rawlins Plantation- a gourmet Caribbean Lunch..Here is a pix of the hotel and reviews on the restaurant:

Our guide that we used were ROSE and JIM-Try to get Rose- She is from England.
Here is there email addy:

We fell in love with St Kitts and the Marriott there is AWESOME~

On St Martin, all we ever do is SHOP as the prices are literally cheaper than St Thomas...

I think we paid $120 but there were 8 of us in the van and we split it..It was WAY cheaper and MUCH better than the cruise ship excursion...

If you email Rose , they will tell you the price..What we did was reserve the van for 2 couples and then met a few more couples on the ship who joined us ---and therefore, we split the tab...then we also tipped the driver...

Rose will take any number of people- I think for 4 people it was $100 but when we bumped it up to 8 people, the price went to $120--still cheap by the cruise ship prices...

Have fun there -- it was one of the islands we had never been to and we really enjoyed it...In fact, the caribbean lunch at Rawlins overlooking the gardens was the BEST part..Your driver can arrange the lunch for any number of people AFTER you land on St Kitts as it does require a reservation..

Also the driver meets you just outside of customs in St Kitts--very easy to do!
