Young Island Resort
I am planning on Honeymooning at Young Island Resort off of St. Vincent in April 2003. Does anyone have any tips for day excursions from this resort? Also, I am contemplating the "sail away" option for 2 or 3 nights to the Grenadines and would appreciate information from anyone who has taken that package. Thanks!

Read our daughter's review at www.triptreks.com - take the Young Island link. They loved the trip to the Falls of Beline (snorkling or diving along the way) and there's many other trips you can take to the rainforest, volcano, etc. You can even go to Bequia for a day on the ferry.

Young Island has three drivers who can take you on sight seeing tours too. We did that with Andrew and loved it. Gorgeous island!

I am also going to Young Island for my honeymoon - April 14-22. Maybe we will meet each other there! In terms of day trips, I have heard that a day trip to the Tobago Cays is really great for snorkeling. You would have to take a hopper flight from St. Vincent to Union Island and then Captain Yannis' tour to the Tobago Cays. I think it is around $130 per person including flights, lunch and drinks- and I have heard that it is worth it because the Tobago Cays are really gorgeous.

We were married at Young Island in 1992 and I dream about going back someday. Obviously, it's been a while since I wsa there, but we did the sailaway option and loved it. The Tobago Cays are unbelievable. I never ooh'd and aah'd so much in my life. Definitely go for it. Have a great time.

We snorkeled a bit in the Tobago Cays but then it got windy and the water very choppy, so we went back to the sailboat and just lounged around on deck, taking in the beauty. So I would say, no, you don't have to snorkel to enjoy.

I wouldn't even want to be on a boat all day in choppy water In some of the pictures that I have seen of the Cays there were small islands. I thought it might be possible to swim ashore. I wasn't sure what it would be like.

Thanks for the information. I think for this trip I'll stick to Young Island and St. Vincent shores.

Steph-the volcano trek looks like an interesting excursion. We're also looking into visiting the Owia Salt Ponds for a picnic and combining a visit to the market with a trip to the Botanical Gardens. I have also heard good things about the Montreal Gardens.

Orangtravelcat- How did you find the pool and the beach at Young Island. Are they as lovely as they look?
