40 responses, many taking life too seriously. <BR> <BR>My unofficial, one man's opinion.. <BR> <BR>Brian of Atlanta had the best response by far (reprinted below) <BR> <BR>If my wife smelled like a fresh, hot Krispy Kreme donut, I'd never leave her alone. <BR> <BR>

Seems to me that in the 10 times we've been to Playa del Carmen in the past few years we've found lots of fellow Texans every trip. Of course it seemed like the majority of Americans were all staying at the A/I resorts while it seemed that many Europeans in tiny bathing suits were staying at less "Disney-like" resorts. Who knows who has a better time? Although I think perhaps it was the us "Yanks" who were more friendly and willing to party...Really, I think its sad we can't go and vacation and get to know someone from another culture. But a thought...is this a nationality thing, a cultural thing, age thing (are too many of us of a certain age?) or an economic thing??

I know this is a travel forum, but when I read Mike and April's reply it really torked me. Who do you idiots think you are , I'm sure Asians care what they are called and it is not Orientals. No wonder racism is alive and well in America.

Nix on Krispy Kreme. Must be a cake doughnut, preferably with coffee flavored icing.

Hey Diana: <BR> <BR>Spare April and me your politically correct crap. You feel free to judge us by calling us idiots (and racists?!) just because the words we and others use are not part of the ever-changing touchy-feely PC lexicon? I happen to have a friend that is of asian/oriental descent and he could care less what he is called, as long as he is considered an AMERICAN.

Rob in his 12/01/1999 post above rants on about how Americans are not appreciated. However, this piece about the under appreciated Americans was written by a Canadian in 1973 as a tribute to Americans. Gordon Sinclair's original text is at:

http://www.tysknews.com/Depts/Our_Culture/americans.htm

Rob plagiarized Gordon Sinclair's script and modified it slightly. What an idiot!!
