wyndham or allegro

Can someone please tell me if the rooms at the allegro are nice? and where can I find pictures of the rooms. I am going for my honeymoon in september and wanted to know what the weather was like. I was thinking of going to the wyndham or the allegro but there is a 2000.00 difference in the all inclusive with the wyndham and the allegro. Is it woth it to pay the extra, is it that worth it? Should I go all inclusive? can someone let me know thanks. chris

I would not recommmend an all-inclusive in Aruba unless you drink excessively. There are so many wonderful restaurants available, why would you want to eat buffets in the same place for a week. You can get to many of these restaurants on the bus that stops outside all the major hotels. You can eat a lot of nice meals in a lot of nice places for a lot less than $2000.
We stayed in the Wyndham in May 2002. We were completely satisfied--Great service, everyone on the staff was really nice. I joined the Wyndham- by- request program(free) before we went so we were up-graded to a better room with a nice bottle of white wine & cheese & crackers waiting for us upon arrival. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The decor was nice but not lavish. The pool was just as nice as any other hotel with the exception of the Hyatt.
the beach was beautiful but Windy. We sat at the pool & just ran down to the beach for a swim--only a few steps. If you have any other questions, you can e-mail me directly or post on this site.

They Wyndham Rooms and Hotel itself are better than the Allegro. If you were my client I would probably explain the rooms at the Allegro are small and need refurbishment but are very clean. They pool area at the Allegro and the beach are very nice.
For $2000 difference, I would say if an more moderate property would not be offensive to you to save the $2000 and go with the Allegro.
Also I agree with Lenore, that All-Inclusive is not necessary in Aruba, there are many nice resturants and bars and the bus system makes it easy and inexpensive to get around.

I went to Aruba/Wyndham in May 2002 and had also struggled with whether to go with the all-inclusive or not. We opted not to and were glad we didn't, we spent nowhere near that amont of money on food and drinks. Plus we got to experience some really good restaurants on the island - El Gaucho, Driftwood, Amazonia and Madame Jeanette's, to name a few. We loved the Wyndham, service, pool and rooms were great.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

Sandra :o)

I would go Allegro...My husband and I went there last September. Without a doubt it was the best vacation ever. The room is clean and decorated nicely...no Sheraton but who is staying in long enought to really care. The beach is beautiful as well as the pool. The staff is a lot of fun, became frindly with manu of them. Always something going on, no need to leave the property really! Bfast was very good, Italian place was excellent. Other than that it is buffet I admit we grew tired of the buffets but we were sooo happy with Aruba in general it did not matter! Go congrats and have a blast!

Typically, Wyndhams are a step or two above Allegros.

We stayed at the Allegro in Aruba and it was horrible. The rooms were shoddy and smelled of must.
The food was generic and the place itself needs an overhaul even though they supposedly spent "millions" to renovate it.
Wyndham is much nicer if you're looking for quality.

I vote Wyndham, stayed there
Aug 2001 and loved it. Great value hotel I would definitly stay there again. I would never do all inclusive in Aruba there are Many great restaurants. The weather is great year round.Stay at Wyndham you wont be sorry.

I stayed at the Allegro in 2000 and it was the worst vacation I ever had. The room had worn and broken furniture, the buffet food was terrible and very repetitive, except for Caruso's, and they would only permit us to dine there once during our 7-day stay. In 2001, we stayed at the Wyndham and had a wonderful time. Their staff was much nicer than the staff at the Allegro. Since Wyndham did not offer an all-inclusive package in 2001, we did not have to deal with the rowdy "all-you-can-drink" crowd like we would have had to had we stayed at the Allegro. I'll take the Wyndham over the Allegro any day.

Soula -

Consider the Marriott. It is on the very end of Palm beach so you get alot more seclusion, it is a wonderful resort for your honeymoon. The prices are just a little more than the Wyndham.

They have a beautiful waterfall in the swimming pool which is extremely romantic. The grounds are lovely as well.

You will not be disapointed with the Marriott, just a consideration for you Soula.

Congratulations.
