Quiet beach luxury resort recommendation
Hello resort wizards. If you have time, please help us find a resort for our honeymoon with the following:
1. Quiet and not crowded beaches
2. Quiet and luxurious/high-end accommodations/rooms
3. Less than $1000/night
4. Safety
5. Zero, or close to zero, children
We would also like, but are willing to compromise a bit on, the following:
1. Great food
2. Great drinks
3. All-inclusive
4. Shortest distance or least annoying travel from Chicago, USA
I know this may be a tall order that is hard to fill. I will also post this in the caribbean forum.
Thanks for your help,
Dave

Dave,
Just a little perspective.....
"Great Food" and "All Inclusive" are generally not two things that go together. You can find decent to good food at the better AIs, but good luck finding gourmet food.
Other than that, you should be able to find an adults only resort in Mexico that fits the rest.

quiet and AI also don't go together, as does secluded
The quieter, more luxurious places are probably more than $1000
so you have some compromises to make!
When are you traveling? Makes a difference
Try Marmona in Mexico, might come closest
safety is relative, adult only is also harder to come by, especially with AI

Check out Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda. Not adults only but few children (unless you are going at Christmas, President's Week or Easter) and even then children won't be a major issue. From Chicage fly to San Juan then take a short (15 minute) island hopper flight on Air Sunshine or Cape Air to Virgin Gorda. Resort is not All Inclusive but does offer optional meal plan.
Agree with others, if "great food" is a priority All Inclusive is not really the best option - most AI's have "lots of food", not great food.

Look into Royal Hideaway in the Playacar area of Mexico's Riviera Maya. It is a high end adults only all inclusive that actually DOES have good food, great beach, fantastic service and is pretty quiet.

My first thought was of Little Dix Bay.
Also thought of Bermuda. The Reefs Club is very nice, offers a meal plan or just breakfast plan. I had the only kids there when we went with my parents a few years ago. Bermuda is best to go from May till Nov. It should be a quick flight from Chicago.

Oh, come on bankable! Caneel Bay has rooms for 2 starting at around $440 in Low Season and around $600/night in High Season. Optional Meal Plans run from $130 to $150/day/PP. That's still under OP's budget of $1,000/night. Yes, you can spend more for suites and/or beachfront rooms but even if you stay in a Garden View room you still get full use of all the resort's amenities and the same food (assuming you choose the Meal plan).
When you consider you don't spend much "awake time" in your room choosing a less costly room is a great way to save money and still stay at a high end resort.
