We were on the Windsurf in March on a Caribbean cruise. We were under full sail 70% of the time and motor assisted sail for another 20% of the time. The captain said that whenever it is possible to sail and make the port times, that is what they do. It's a wonderful cruise line and after going on it, not sure I will go back to a big ship line, except for multi-generational vacations where the bigger ships and all of the activities offered make sense for our extended family.

ellenbw; you were most fortunate for otherds on the WindSpirit only 4 couples at different times had about the same experience we had. 10-15% "real" sailing and the rest motoring. tHE wINDJAMMER BASED ON FOLKS WHO i BELIEVE HAVE SIMILAR STANDARDS AS WE DO WOULD ASSIGN wINDSTAR SHIPS b++/a- AND wINDjAMMER b/b+. tHAT'S A BIG DIFFERENCE FOR A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY DIFFERENCE.

I don't know why StanKase has to throw a wet blanket on everything. Whether its insulting people's photography skills or the quality of snorkelling. The Windstar cruise line is a terrific line. It's been one of my most enjoyable cruises. On our Caribbean cruise last year through the Southern Caribbean, we were under sail at least 50% of the time.
