Wind on Aruba

Has anyone ever heard that parts of the island are more windy than others? I think I heard that some time ago. I guess it would be a consideration if you were going to the beach. Anyone? Thanks

Yes, the far eastern side beaches of Aruba around the Lighthouse are much more windy than the beaches around the resorts. Tradewinds blow about 15-20 mph during the day on the resort side of the island, but can get to 30 mph on the eastern end.

We've stayed at several hotels at both Palm and Eagle Beach amd have found the the beach area in front of the Windham to be extreamly windly and people complain about being pelted with the sand. Maybe that is why they cater to the so much to the people around the pool.

We stayed at the Raddison several years ago and found it NOT as windy as other parts of the beach. It would have been to hot to stay at the beach without the breeze. It is a gentle breeze more than wind.
