will my American kids be considered tourists like me
Hi
I have a dual citizenship and planning to take my two kids to Cuba on August. Both are American citizens. I would like to know if they would be considered tourists like me and so be able to move freely and travel or if I have to enroll them in a Spanish class or so to conform to the new people to people guidelines and make my own program for them . My solder son ( 17) speaks Spanish fluently so he would not mind studying but I just want to make sure that if we go to the beach it's not an issue because they are minors and so follow me.
They are not on my passport and have their own passport. If they are counted as Americans I may not be able to take them to the beach or siege money on their behalf I don't know what to do bc the Info on the web is limited and even their airlines don't know. any help would be appreciated
Thanks

As US citizens they have to have the people to people exchange, and actually by you having a US Passport I think it's the same.
My Mom is from Spain, US citizen now so dual passports. If going to Cuba she's consider US coming back. Unless they've loosened that requirement too.
Either way, your kids are just American, so rules apply

Having dual citizenship does not make you two different people. You are a U.S. citizen and are subject to U.S. law. Period. Your second passport does not matter. The same rules apply to you as to your kids. Whether anyone will ever find out if you bend the rules is another story, but seem to be under a mistaken impression about your own status as it applies to Cuba. The focus of the trip for all three of you is supposed to be people-to-people activities if you want to abide by the law.

The law you have to abide by is US law, not Cuban. They don't care what you do. You can organise your own person to person tour, but how much you comply with it once you get there is your own affair - beaches don't have passport controls.
