Why no good beachfront resorts?

I have been trying to find a nice place to stay in St. Kitts but there do not seem to be any nice beach resorts. There are either no frills hotels or expensive plantation resorts away from the beach (which with the exception of Golden Lemon which is very isolated) Any suggestions? Should I stay on Nevis and take a day trip to St. Kitts? What gives?

Check out www.timothybeachresort.com. It is the only resort on the caribbean beach. The beach has just been completely rebuilt.

The Papillion- All-inclusive, very nice, excellent beach, Atlantic side, very rough water most of the time.

Hi Belinda,

I'd highly recommend Timothy Beach Resort. They have some lovely one bedroom suites. Even though the prices are modest, it is a great place to stay. The sunset views of the Caribbean from the balconies are great and they are like complete apartments but have the added convenience of daily maid service. We love the luxury of eating breakfast on our balcony or having cocktails while stretched out on the chaise lounges in the evening. The private pool for guests and ocean front restaurant are other pluses in our book. You will love St. Kitts!
