Which room at Ladera?

I am looking at Ladera in April 2003 and am looking at feedback at which room was the best. I am considering a deluxe one-bedroom with plunge pool.

I stayed in room Q and loved it. From what I understand, it is not one of the newer rooms (which I believe might be RSTUV), but it seemed to be much bigger than the newer rooms. Bottom line is that you can't be dissappointed at Ladera. I would definitely stick with deluxe though.
Definately go with the plunge pool/deluxe room. Just ate dinner there at Dasheens. Literally the most exquisite view on earth. Food was fantastic, but it is openair and the flying ants in your food can be a problem. Depends on the season. Views are heaven on earth, rest of the island is frustrating. Be prepared for an hour long drive from the airport on dusty old, not maintained roads.
Enjoy!

Tim -

My husband and I stayed in room O in Ladera, and we just thought it was incredible! The bed area was raised a few steps from the living/pool area and afforded us a great view of the Pitons and water from our bed.

I have heard the "older" rooms are larger than the newer rooms, but didn't see for myself. I just have to echo the previous poster....no matter what, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I honeymooned there April/May of this year. We booked a 1 bedroom deluxe and were upgraded to a 3 bedroom suite (Suite E). The suite was beautiful, however, it was a bit big for us. The bigger the room, the more bugs and "visitors" you have. We stayed in the Master bedroom, and the living room. Our pool was inside and the only light it received was from a skylight, and therefore cold and unuseable. Our neighbors (Suite F) had an outdoor pool, and were in it all the time.
Ladera was beautiful!

Eileen: I'm curious about just what kind of "visitors" you had at Ladera? This is my only concern about the open-style rooms. I have no problem with bugs, little iguanas, perhaps the occasional bird, but I have a big problem with creatures of the furry little four-legged kind. Was this a problem at all for you?

Looking at Ladera for a week over Thanksgiving '02. I understand it is situated at the top of a hill - how close and convenient is it to go to the beach also take a stroll in the evening to try out loval restaurants and cuisine? Any markets nearby? Thanks

Tim:

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Ladera and it was the most wonderful romantic place anywhere ever!!!

We stayed in a deluxe i bedroom suite "R" and loved it we not only had an outdoor heated plunge pool but we also had a wall of windows on the side facing the rainforest. We met the people staying in the suite next to us "S" and it was even more romantic than ours and I thought that would be impossible. You can view my full trip report and look at all my pictures of Ladera and our room at www.seashelltravel.com.

I would request Suite "S" if I were you. The couple taht styed there also have their pictures on a web site http://mosa.unity.ncsu.edu/photos/wedding/room. you may have to stop at wedding and look for the pictures of their honeymoon.

Also the only "visitors" we had were a few geckos out on the patio, one frog by the door on the outside and some bugs that flew up high be the lights way up above our heads so they were no where near us.

Stayed at Ladera in any room is an experience not to be missed, Trust me :-)

If you have any questions after looking at the pictures and reading the trip report let me know.

Kay
