I'm a fan of Costa Rica: it has everything from great beaches to rain/cloud forests, volcanoes, and very nice hotels, all at a fairly affordable price.

Both Martinique and Guadeloupe have vast areas with rainforest, as well as other areas with beautiful white sand beaches. There's a good exchange rate into Euro's, which are currently worth about $.90 and prices are pretty reasonable.

St. Kitts is one of the prettiest islands we have been to - it is very green, lush and mountainous, peaceful scenery where the mountains meet the ocean. There are no crowds there or highrises jsut miles of beautiful beaches. Can be expensive to get there however.

Puerto Rico has mountains, rain forest, great beaches, diversity, and wonderful food.
|
Grenada has both white and black sand beaches, mountains with hikes to waterfalls and a lovely rainforest. Prices for one bedroom units with full kitchens can be very reasonable in off season. There are plenty of fresh fruits and veggies and fresh fish markets so you can cook in.
