which is a cheaper island: Barbados or Turks?
I know they are both expensive (and we are not talking all inclusives), but which island is more expensive in terms of dining etc? I have been to St. Martin and that was expensive, but is Barbados really that much more expensive than St. Martin?

If you are wanting to stay at a nice deluxe resort in Barbados like Sandy Lane it will run you slightly higher than St Martin and Turks. Just keep in mind in Barbados not to stay on the east side if you like to go in the water as it is rough since it is off the ocean.

i am not referring to a sandy lane type resort. I am referring to the resorts on the south side (accra, bougainvillea), compared to the resort ocean club on grace bay in turks.

Generally speaking, it would cost about the same to eat in Barbados and Turks.

One person could eat a cheap dinner with a drink for $15-20 US. A more expensive dinner with a drink could cost $30-40 US or more.

Barbados is DOUBLE $$ vs TURKS

I found Barbados more expensive that the Turks and Caicos. But since there are few resorts in the Turks, you can go on the economy cheaper than on Provo which is in the Caicos and Barbados. Air to Provo and on to the Turks is expensive but so is the air to Barbados. But that depends on choices of dining, resorts, activity also. I found St. Martin in line with many of the other islands of the Eastern Caribbean and the air much more reasonable than the TCI or the Southern Caribbean.
