Which Hotel For Honeymoon in Curacao?

Hi. I just bought our tickets to Curacao for next September and I'm trying to pick the hotel. I hear a lot about the Hilton and Marriot being the top hotels. We are looking for something very special, romantic, the quieter the better, but a big fancy hotel like the Hilton would be good too.

I guess my main concern with hotels like the Hilton and Marriot is the crowd factor.

Anyone have some input?

I haven't stayed there but I have heard nothing but glowing reports of Kura Hulanda Hotel in Willemstad. Just what you a looking for from what I read. Search that name on the forums and you will see lots of praise. We checked it out for this Xmas and got better rates by going thru leading hotels of the world website than with the hotel directly. Good luck! sure Curacao will be great!

We have only stayed at the Marriot in Curacao. It's quiet and you don't have the blaring music like you get in some resorts. Very relaxing with lots of open space. Extremely pretty pool area. Big beach area to walk along.

I just returned last night from Curacao (12 nights). We stayed at 3 different places and two of them were the Kura Hulanda and the Marriott. I would highly recommend either or both of these places.

The Kura is in town, but the rooms are absolutely gorgeous and ther service is untouchable. They offer a shuttle to their beach plus two on site pools.

We stayed at the Marriott on thier Total Escapse Package (it is equivilent to an AI) and the food here was very good and the service was also very good (but not equal to the Kura).

I have pictures of both resort rooms and pool areas if you are interested, please email me privately at [email protected] and I will send them to you. It may take a few days b/c they have not been downloaded yet.

Good luck!

What about the Avila Beach Hotel? We stayed there several years ago and really liked it - s special place, very individual and romantic. We stayed at one of the 'apartments' and they were very nice, spacious and on a small beach that we had practically to ourselves.

The Dutch Royal family always stay at the Avila Beach Hotel in on of the apartments Carola mentioned. The one on the ground floor is particularly nice, with a practically empty beach, even in high season. This apartment has a deck right on the beach too. I like the Avila very much, great atmosphere, romantic restaurant. It does not have a pool however.
The Marriott is great too; more of a standard American Hotel though, compared to Avila. Don't think it will be too crowded in September.
Kura Hulanda I have heard great things about; haven't been yet.
