Which Caribbean islands have direct flights from Boston?

DH and I are starting to think about a trip to the Caribbean next April. The only 2 islands I know for sure that have direct flights from Boston are Aruba and Puerto Rico (both on American). Are there any other islands that can be reached directly from Boston?

Bermuda which is not actually in the Caribbean but is classed there on this board can be reached by direct flights on USAIR from Boston.

Service running through Easter (April) non-stop from BOS to Grand Cayman on Cayman Airways

I beleive I've seen this exact post before...however, I will say that you should be aware of the usage of "direct" flights. A "direct" flight does not mean "nonstop" in fact it can stop more than once, it only means you don't have to change planes. I think you mean "nonstop" now that means a flight the goes from point A to point B without any stops. Best of luck to you and avoid Aruba, ick.

American Airlines has non-stop flights from BOS to St. Thomas. It is very easy to get the ferry from St. Thomas to St. John.

I also think that United or US Airways has a non-stop to Grand Bahama Island. Again, not the Caribbean, but kinda like it.

Jamaica and Aruba are the only Caribbean Islands that I've visited and both were non-stop direct flights from Boston,

Personally I recommend Bucuti Beach (Tara Suites) on Aruba and Idle Awhile and Jamaica Inn on Jamaica.

There are charters out of Logan running to many Caribbean islands/generally on a Sun-Sun basis only and generally linked up with GWV/TNT and other package
vacations. AIR JAMAICA also flies Logan-MoBay direct (US AIR thru Phily, AMERICAN thru Miami).

thaks tivertonhouse

It's useful to know that flights are better Sunday to Sunday and that does explain that while we had a direct fight (US) to Jamaica (on a Sunday)we had to fly back via Charlotte on the Wednesday

Flights cheapest midweek Tues/Wed/Thurs on airlines. Air Jamaica may be having its problems, but I sure prefer it from Boston to MoBay direct to layover in Phily airport under never-ending construction with l-o-n-g hikes btw. terminal gates. And US Air is cheaper.

Suggest you plan your trip for the island/resort which best suits you. You
can fly nearly anywhere in the Caribbean from BOS on American, with the worst case being a change in Miami or San Juan, and an extra hour or so. You can download American's complete schedule/itinerary from their website.

I have been traveling with friends for the past 4 years to St. John. We take a direct, non-stop flight from Boston to STT. It only takes about 3.5 hours and then a short ferry ride to St. John. It is truly paradise.

beachgirl:

I agree with travler863 avoid Aruba.
St John would be a great place if you want beautiful, calm beaches that offer some great snorkeling. It is also a lush mountainous island with easy daytrips to surrounding islands like the British Virgin Islands or St Thomas. Good luck!! :)
