Which Anguilla hotel ??
We will be in Anguilla for three days in January or February. It appears there are many fabulous hotels. We enjoy a beautiful location, a lovely room on the large size, nice friendy service and great food. We try to avoid places that are a "scene" and snooty. We're open as to the cost.
Thanks so much for your opinions. |
Definitely look into Frangipani on Meads Bay.

It would be hard to find a place in Anguilla that was snooty. It's true there are many great hotels. They each have a little different personality. If you want your room as close to the water as possible, or feel like being pampered, you may want to go to Cap Juluca. I think it's also probably the most romantic of the big hotels. Homeymooners' paradise. If you want more formal service and a great spa, and you like overlooking the ocean from above, then Malliouhana is the place. If you want something more sporty, try Cuisinart. They have a mile-long running path and a great walking beach. Those are three big hotels and there are plenty of others. I've met people who go to Anguilla twice a year and never stay at the same place twice. You can't go wrong.

If you want a hotel that's not 'snooty' and has a real old-Caribbean feel to it, definitely look into the Rendezvous Bay Beach Hotel. It's right on the beach, and the beach is definitely one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches I have ever been. One word of warning, however: the rooms are large and breezy but basic - no tv, no elaborate furnishings, just simple, colorful, Caribbean. For location, service and atmosphere, though, it can't be beat.

Thank you all for the advice. It seems like there isn't a bad choice!!!

We're going to Anguilla in May (our first time there) for 10 days, and staying at Rendezvous Bay Hotel. I've gotten alot of helpful info on www.anguillaforum.com

if you stay at Rendezvous, try to get one of the new units. I have heard that the older worns are worn and dated.
|
That should say the older "ones" are worn and dated...
