Where to stay with kids on Turks and caicos

I really want to go to T&C for the first time with my family. However, we would never stay at a beaches resort. We want something more upscale yet still have things for the kids to do. I am leaning to the regent palms & the somerset. Could anyone recommend one over the other? We are particular about where we stay. We want new or updated accommodations, nice pool
area, workout center, restaurant & child center. Any place else you would recommend? Also, heard recent reports at crime in Caribbean. How safe is T&C?

I highly recommend Grace Bay Club Villas or Regent Palms for you. Gorgeous accomodations, gorgeous pools, excellent service, and very family friendly. Grace Bay Club has the most excellent kids club on the island.

T&C crime wise has been extremely quiet the couple of months, I consider it safe.

Wow - I went to Beaches...and if you stayed in the Italian Village - I think it would have everything you wanted.

We are not fans of the all-inclusive large resorts. We like something smaller, more upscale. I am leaning towards the regent palms, it seems to be a good fit. The Grace Bay club looks awesome too, but was suprised at the price for a 2 or 3 bedroom oceanfront unit.
thanks for your help.

Regent Palms is a perfect fit for upscale with families. How old are the kids? Grace Bay Club Villas is also excellent, and has a terrific Kids Club. GBC also offers VIK packages, Very Important Kids-very unique!

I would highly suggest The Somerset for a family.
Great suites with the highest end finishes.
Wonderful zero entry pool that is perfect for kids.
Nice lap pool for adults and the beach is amazing.
Nice flat entry to the beach and plenty of loungers and umbrellas.
Very nice beachfront restaurant (casual) LunaSea and an upscale venue O'Soleil.
Lovely croquet lawn for the kids.
this resort is not too large and has a very classy and sophisticated feel without being stuffy. It is one of my favorites on the island and certainly does not have the "Beaches Resort" feel.
