Where to stay in St. Thomas with Teens

Our family of five (2 adults, 3 teen boys)are planning a trip to St. Thomas next Christmas. We would like to stay in a condo or a hotel on a nice beach with many water activities and nightly entertainment within walking distance. Is this possible?
Where would you recommend? 4 Star property would fit our budget. To give you an idea of what are boys like, last year we visited Waikiki and Maui Kaanapali and our boys preferred Waikiki because of all the "action" nearby. Any help you can provide with accommodations would be great! Thank you.

Sapphire Beach Resort may be an excellent choice for you.

Is Sapphire Beach Resort the same as Antilles Sapphire Beach Resort? Do you think this would be a better choice than Marriott Frenchmens Reef? Does the Marriott French. Reef have all inclusive or condo type facilities?

Thanks.

Sapphire Beach Resort was my first thought also. There are several buildings and some of the units are managed by Antilles Resort Management, which handles rentals at various condo complexes on St. Thomas and St. Croix. "Antilles SBR" would refer to their units at Sapphire - same resort.

SBR condition is more 3-star than 4-star.

Fr. Reef is a big, active resort, but I don't believe they have any condo-type units and it is not an AI resort, although there may be meal plans available. Adjacent Morningstar (also Marriott) is even nicer, though pricier.

For an AI you might look at the Wyndham.

I have heard that Sapphire has some quality issues with some of their units as well as service issues. Is this true?

Anybody have a thought on Watergate Villas for teens. I have two teen daughters and we will be going in June.
